Brittany Wallman of the Sun Sentinel: Six of eight commissioners voted in favor of giving the Panthers additional taxes from tourists. The Panthers are asking for and additional $80 million from Broward County. The Panthers are requesting the developmental rights to 22 acres of land next to the arena, is separate from the request for additional tax funds. Panthers President and CEO Michael Yormark.
“We need help,” he said.
“We’re losing $100,000 a day,” said Panthers co-owner Doug Cifu, who with Vinnie Viola became the team’s fifth owner in September, with a $250 million purchase. “So where I sit, time is of the essence.”

Craig Custance of ESPN: Panthers offseason priorities: 1. Find the right head coach 2. Bring in veteran to surround young talent 3. Develop a culture and identity. Potential free agent targets: Ales Hemsky, Steve Ott and Brooks Orpik.

Takže do bieloruska na majstrovstvá nepocestuje tak z Floridy pojde na MS asi len Barkov a Luongo (ak nebude dlho pauzovať)

The Florida Panthers note that Roberto Luongo(neck) will not join the team during its two-game road trip.
The good news is that it sounds like he should be available to play in the team's final five games. If this is correct, then he'd be available on Friday (April 4), so you'll be without him as an option for much of this next week (for those in weekly head-to-head leagues). Mar 30 - 2:38 PM

“I’m disappointed in the year; I’m disappointed in a lot of things,” Tallon said. “I’m moving forward. We’re going to fix it. We’ve got great support now from [owner] Vinnie Viola and we’re going to move forward and add the pieces to help these kids get to the level that we need to get them to.”
Tallon wants to add two veteran defenseman by the draft. He’s hoping to sign at least five veteran free agents, including a “sniper” to aid their power-play. He will tender qualifying offers to Dmitry Kulikov, Dylan Olsen, Brandon Pirri and Jimmy Hayes.

Howard Berger of Berger Bytes: It is well known that Panthers GM Dale Tallon is listening to offers for the 1st overall pick in this year’s draft. Two people who are employed by NHL team have mentioned this potential deal.
Toronto would send Dion Phaneuf, Nazem Kadri and the 8th overall pick to Florida for Ed Jovanovski and 1st overall pick. The Maple Leafs would use the 1st overall pick to Aaron Ekblad.
